The Baby Bear Who Fished for Stars
A heartwarming night-time story about a curious little bear, Popo, who wants to catch the shining stars in the sky.
When the quiet night arrived, the blue lake deep in the forest became a mirror reflecting the sky. On the lake, countless stars were twinkling, looking as if they had fallen splash-splash into the water.
The baby bear ‘Popo’ sat at the edge of the dock and looked at the lake. “I want to fish for those pretty stars and keep them in my room!”
Popo cast his tiny bamboo fishing rod. Although the bobber floated in the middle of the lake, no stars were caught. “Stars, won’t you come play with me? I’ll give you my delicious honey,” Popo whispered.
Time passed, but the fishing line remained perfectly still. Popo began to feel a little sad. Just then, tiny yellow lights began to float up one by one from the grass near the water.

“Oh, are you fishing?” a twinkling firefly approached Popo and asked. “Yes, I wanted to catch the stars in the sky, but it’s not working,” Popo sighed.
The firefly smiled and replied, “We are not the real stars in the water, but we can light up your night together!” Dozens of fireflies began to circle around Popo, dancing beautifully.
Popo’s heart became as bright as the night sky. Now Popo was no longer lonely. He had met real friends who shined the brightest.
